Gen-Z has failed miserably in the job market. This is what headlines such as “1 in 6 hiring managers report Gen-Z candidates using their phones mid-interview” or “Who is sitting in at that Gen-Z interview?” suggest. You’re supposed to believe that mom and dad are the ones who have sat in on your Gen-Z job interview.
It’s all rubbish.
Some Gen-Zers do not have the best skills for job searching. Some millennials and Gen Xers are also terrible at job hunting. Silent Generation members (those born between 1926 and 1945) may not be applying for many jobs. But if they do, they’re terrible at it.
Everyone is terrible at job searching. Most people don’t practice this skill very often. Ironically, those who are terrible at work get the most experience.
