Any business should have no problem answering this question. All employees should know who their “big boss” really is.
Why did companies refuse to provide the beneficial ownership information (BOI), as required by the U.S. Corporate Tax Transparency Act, in the first place? Why did the screeching stop happen over a Tweet?
The tweet that ended everything
Terrence K. William tweeted Elon Musk on March 1, 2025 asking him to investigate the BOI. Williams stated, “I received an email stating that I must complete the Beneficial Ownership Report every year. Otherwise, I will be fined 591 dollars per day + 10k in fines and prison time.”
