I had to schedule two vet appointments for my cats this morning. Since I am an American living in Switzerland, I have to call on German. No problem. I’ve been living here for nearly 16 years, and I hold a B2 German Certificate.
A B2 is, or should be, “I am able to interact with native speakers with fluency and spontaneity which makes regular communication with them possible.” I can participate in a discussion within familiar contexts and support my opinions.”
It should have been simple to say, “I’d like check-ups for my cats, please call.” But instead, I was panicked and called before checking with.
Because I have become lazy with my German.
