Do you have employees who trust the management? If so, listen to their answers.

We asked employees from a variety of backgrounds. Do you trust what is being said to you? Do you have faith in those in authority? Do you think management knows what they’re doing? What they said

“It’s not because managers intentionally mislead, but they can give an impression of certainty even though they know that things can change and do. Sometimes the words that they choose are so carefully selected, you can’t help but suspect there’s a hidden agenda. When they tell you that you can transfer to a new company with the same conditions, but do not inform you that your new employer has the right to renegotiate those terms after a year.

The managers are quick to say that your basic salary won’t change, but they will not commit to no changes to overtime rates. This could have a dramatic effect on the take-home pay of some people.

No one was made redundant. They didn’t say that no one lost their job. So, I am offered voluntary redundancy or redeployment. This means a move to a different workplace, with new co-workers and a manager. I liked my old team, and we got along with the boss. I’m a shift worker, don’t own a car and can now walk to my job. The new location is miles away.

I assumed that redeployment would mean I’d be placed in the same position, but with a different team. I thought I wouldn’t have to go through an interview. After I turned down the first job, I was under pressure to accept other posts.

I don’t know why I was required to apply for my job that I have done for the past five years. It was said that it was a brand new position, but I see it as the same job I used to have in the office with just a new boss and fancy title.

We are all internal candidates who have applied for these posts within the new structure. After a formal interview, none of us were appointed. The posts were then advertised externally. We were told we could apply to compete with external candidates, but what is the point?

We could have said that these changes would not work, but we weren’t asked. Senior management simply decided this was a more efficient method of working. We are now receiving a lot more complaints from our customers, and the management is blaming you!

My colleagues believe that the problem is that senior managers do not have any experience in the front-line. I disagree. They believe they understand how things are done, but their knowledge is outdated by 20 years. They don’t realize how much technology has changed. ”

Vision and strategy are not enough to create a successful organization. It’s all about trust.
