When everyone was freaking about a Trump upset the day after 2016, I wrote this.
Look, the adrenaline is pumping! It was a shock. Tomorrow, everything will return to its blissful normality. You will go to work, have your coffee and get a phone call from the school saying that your child has just vomited on a fellow student. All the normal things. You didn’t really think about the president before the election, but you will now.
Was I ever wrong! The world never returned to normal. We are now 8 years on from the first inauguration of Donald Trump. I would never have predicted it in a million.
Yet, here we stand. Life is different.
For instance, <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Legality_of_cannabis_by_U.S._jurisdiction#:~:text=The%20Rohrabacher%E2%80%93Farr%20amendment%2C%20first,states%20have%20decriminalized%20its%20use." 24 states have now legalized recreational marijuana. Thirty-one states either have banned DEI or are considering it.
Most people don’t notice a difference between these two things. But HR professionals face huge changes.
Businesses are prohibited from discriminating on the basis race, gender, sexuality, and other factors. Nevada law requires that you don’t discriminate against marijuana users.
