It’s OK to say “Merry Christmas” at work. Just Don’t Say This

It is OK to say, ” Happy Christmas“, at work. It’s okay to decorate a Christmas tree. It’s okay to hold a Secret Santa or a Gingerbread House Building Contest, or Unsightly Christmas Sweater Day.

You can do all of these things, but it’s not okay unless your entire office celebrates the Christmas holiday.

About 85 per cent of Americans celebrate Christmas one way or another. Many people, even those who do not celebrate Christmas personally, are fine with this type of Christmas activity.

There’s a good chance that there are also people who don’t celebrate Christmas in your office. The people in your office are likely to be fine with you celebrating Christmas, but if you continue the celebrations for Christmas after Christmas, they may feel excluded.
