Amazon’s return-to-office announcement should be a cautionary sign to remote workers. It may be that CEOs are looking to bring value back to investors by bringing employees to the office.
Really, that’s it. It’s what they want. They may have stated goals such as “Amazon strives Earth’s most client-centric company and Earth’s Safest Place to Work,” but they will change their actions if they don’t return shareholder value.
Change is what they are. Amazon CEO Andy Jassy sent a letter this week to all employees, which included future plans and a mandate to return to work. Some employees are naturally unhappy. Many people enjoy working from home.
