An ex-Acquisitor executive who sued the consulting firm in an employment tribunal case has settled.
Peter Lacy, a former head of sustainability for Accenture, said that he was “belittled“, including ADHD and depression. He claimed disability discrimination and unfair termination.
Accenture denied these allegations, and stated that the redundancy took place “in the context of publicly disclosed global business optimization actions which impacted 19,000 members of our workforce”.
Lacy was also a member in the global management committee of Accenture, having worked there for more than two decades. He had filed a complaint against Julie Sweet, its US chief executive, alleging that he was “ambushed” and kept out of meetings, leading to his loss of job.
Legal documents stated that the dismissal of his last year was “a fait accompli, with no redundancy exercises at all”.
However, yesterday, the news broke that the case was settled. Lacy stated: “Accenture has agreed to a settlement with me in relation to the employment tribunal proceedings. We have agreed to keep the terms of this settlement confidential and won’t be making any further comments.
A spokesperson from Accenture made a similar comment.
Lacy has been appointed chairman of Drift Energy, an electricity supplier. The company hailed his appointment as “hugely important” as they believe it will help them scale up and become a leading player in green hydrogen.
Ben Medland founder and CEO at Drift commented on Lacy: “Peter’s extensive experience in international business and sustainability will play a pivotal role in advancing our long-term and short-term goals.”
