Working together to prevent sexual harassment

Tuesday, 26 November 2024 at 1:30pm GMT

The media is often flooded with reports of high-profile sexual harassment cases.

This Personnel Today Masterclass in association with Make UK focuses on the new obligation on employers to prevent harassment under the Worker Protection Act 2023, which entered into force on October 26.

Employers must take proactive measures to prevent sexual harassment at work and protect their employees from third party harassment.

The editors of Personnel Today Rob Moss are joined by Make UK’s legal experts Lucy Atherton, and Sharon Broughton to discuss the steps that employers can take to comply with this new duty.

The EHRC will also update its technical guidance on sexual harassing and highlight the consequences of employers who fail to comply.

The session will not only outline legal obligations but also provide practical advice about policies, reporting, and training mechanisms. This ensures that employers are equipped to protect their employees and adhere to the new regulations.

The focus of the overall campaign is prevention, accountability and creating a safe environment for everyone. Make UK will briefly describe the support package it can offer.

This 30-minute online masterclass includes a Q&A session with the audience.
