Employees come and leave. People will leave no matter how great you are as an employee and what a great company culture you have. You may need to let people go, or you might have some financial problems and be forced to lay off workers.
It doesn’t matter what you do, but it does matter how you treat people.
It may seem that this is contrary to good management. After all, shouldn’t your focus be on integrating new employees as well as keeping your existing employees engaged and happy? It’s not a zero-sum game. You can also have a fantastic off-boarding program.
What happens when someone decides to leave the country?
You want them to leave with a positive note. Think of voluntary terminations as a meeting for marketing.
