A high-level discussion on health and well-being will be held next month by Dame Carol Black. She is the chairperson of the government’s new occupational health taskforce.
Discussions will be held at the MAD World Festival of Workplace Culture and Employee Health and Wellbeing on October 17 in London. Panellists include Dhavani bishop, Tesco’s head of colleague health and wellbeing, Peter Cheese, CIPD CEO, Kristin furber, Channel 4 people director, and Dr Clarandes Fernandes.
Vanessa Harwood Whitcher, CEO of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health and Christian van Stolk executive vice president of RAND Europe will also be joining them.
Participants will be asked to vote on the best argument after the discussion.
The summit will include presentations on a variety of topics, including whether peers or managers are responsible for creating a culture that promotes psychological safety. It will also discuss how employers can meet the growing need for mental health support tailored to each individual.
A panel discussion will also take place with Steve Iley (chief medical officer of Jaguar Land Rover), Nick Pahl (chief executive of SOM), and Dr Jo Yarker (professor in occupational psychology at Birkbeck) on how employers can develop informed and effective well-being strategies.
