According to a recent survey, UK dog owners have reshaped their work schedules to include caring for their pets.
Sainsbury’s Bank’s survey revealed that many people are reevaluating their work-life-balance, and adapting their schedules in order to take care of their canine companions.
16 percent of respondents said they were modifying their working hours to allow them to take care of their dogs. 13 percent work more frequently from home.
Findings show that many dog owners are reevaluating their work-life-balance and adjusting their schedules to suit. Nearly a third of respondents (31%) say their dog made them more aware of the importance of a work-life balance.
Dog walkers, day care centers, and sitters have been hired by 15% of people to help them manage dog ownership while working. But despite all of these adjustments, 13% still struggle to find a balance between their work and dog commitments.
Vicky Yuill is the Head of Insurance for Sainsbury’s Bank. She commented, “Our survey shows a significant change in employee preferences when it comes to dog owners who take charge of their needs.
The data indicates that employees are increasingly looking for flexible working arrangements and policies that allow pets. Employers may need to take this into consideration in the future to retain and attract talent.
