Poll: Flexible working hours and health insurance are top priorities for employees

A poll suggests that employees’ top health and wellness priorities for 2025 are flexible working hours, paid “wellness days”, and better health insurance.

In a survey of 1,046 UK-based employees, YuLife found that half of the women (54%) rate their health as “good”, compared to 63% of the men.

Employees who are happy at work were more likely to remain in their current position. 71% of them did not look for a job in 2025 compared to just 30% among those with poor health.

Only 35% of employees thought that their employer effectively bridged the gap in wellbeing caused by poor access to healthcare. And only 10% said their employer did this “very well”.

Women ranked flexible working as the top workplace benefit for 2025, with 46% citing this as their main request.

25% of employees with poor mental health reported that they would like better support for their mental health at work.

The most popular support mechanisms were paid wellness days and sabbaticals.

The survey found that access to health insurance is the third most desired employee benefit by 2025.

A poll found that the happiest employees were the oldest (over 55s) and the youngest (under 35s). The poll also found that economic uncertainty (23%) as well as job security (20%) were amongst the most important concerns of employees.

Sammy Rubin is the CEO and cofounder of YuLife. He said, “Our findings show that workplace wellness is not a solution for all.”

Employers must adopt policies that promote work-life balance, financial security, and support women.

He added that “flexible working, meaningful financial assistance, and tools to improve employee wellbeing” are not perks anymore, but essentials in 2025.
